Commitment to the community: RK Toyota Virginia / RK Chevrolet Virginia founder establishes the Neptune Festival.

Richard Kline saw the need for a community festival to celebrate the unique heritage of Virginia Beach. So, in 1973, he created the Neptune Festival. Residents responded enthusiastically to his idea, with The Virginian-Pilot Beacon reporting attendance of about 50,000 at the first festival. Attendees enjoyed:
  • fifty different activities, ranging from
  • fishing to rugby, and from
  • card games to sand castle contests, with
  • many of them highlighting the special nature of Virginia Beach.

Act with integrity in business and in all other aspects of life and find success.

Even Richard probably didn’t foresee how popular this festival would become. Today, the Neptune Festival is:

Check out the emerging sand sculpture of Neptune and you’ll see the camaraderie that exists at the festival that was once simply Richard’s vision for the community.

Time marches on, but business integrity at RK Toyota Virginia / RK Chevrolet Virginia remains constant.

Like grains of sand in an hourglass, life does not stay the same. The Neptune Festival now belongs to the community and is coordinated by dedicated people who continue the traditions started by Richard Kline.

Integrity in business, though, remains firmly entrenched at the heart of RK Auto Group, as we continue to honor our commitments with integrity.
